We are actively planning outings. Some past club trips have been to the Lower Owens, Crowley, and the Lower Sac. Please send us a list of your ideas for trips, new or old places or places you’ve never been but would like to go. Also if you recommend a guide service in an area, please list it. Looking forward to fall fishing in the Eastern Sierra for trout. Fall focus will be the Upper and Lower Owens, Hot Creek, Rock Creek and McGee Creek including better flows, beautiful weather and maybe some fall foliage.

OCTOBER 19-22 | SAN LUIS RESERVOIR AND THE O’NEILL FOREBAY | Outing Images
We've set October 19-22 for O'Neill Forebay, off Highway 5 near Los Banos, and below San Luis Reservoir in western Merced County. This forebay holds water from the California Aqueduct where it is used to fill the reservoir. We'll target striped bass from float tubes. > Gallery Images

The Fall River is a tributary of the Deschutes River in the Deschutes National Forest in Deschutes County, Oregon, United States.
SECOND SALT SATURDAYS SURF FISHING
8:00am - 11:00am
Location changed to Rincon County Beach (not Santa Claus Lane due to construction)
Exit Bates Rd. off of the 101.
Turn up the hill to the upper parking lot.
Park near the bathrooms.
Walk down the paved trail to the beach.
Look for the Santa Barbara Flyfishers sign.
Free instruction & introduction to fly fishing in the surf.
All equipment provided for 6 anglers

I just returned from the most enjoyable and FUN club outing in my memory. Twelve members bravely decided to attend the outing, not knowing what to expect as none of us had been to this camp or fished Fish Creek before. Vince and I left early Wednesday morning to get to the planned campground and scout out campsites for the group. It was a hot trip thru Mojave along Hwy. 395 before taking the 9 Mile Canyon Road. turnoff to Kennedy Meadows and beginning the climb into the cooler Southern Sierras and Sequoia National Park. - Larry Basham (see August 2023 newsletter for the whole report!)
PAST OUTING
OUTING TO BIG PINE CREEK AND 1ST LAKE
A trip is being organized by local fly fisher Russ Redmond.
Dates: August 14 - 20, 2022
Camp Sunday and Monday nights at Big Pine Campground. This gives us hiking time to get acclimatized.
Tuesday morning we take mules with our gear to 1st Lake or Big Pine Creek below 1st Lake.
Camp 3 or 4 nights in the back country.
Mules pick us up and we head back down the mountain.
Stay one night in Big Pine and drive home the next day.
